Black genealogy group meeting...

The next meeting of the African American Genealogy Group of the Miami Valley (AAGGMV) will be held Saturday, November 26, 1:00 p.m. at the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Public Library, 800 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH. in room 3A.

Guest speaker will be Mr. Denis Daly Lindsey of the library staff. Mr Daly will give a presentation and conduct a tour of the library’s genealogy department. He will answer questions and offer personal assistance in family research and genealogy using the library’s vast collection of materials. Mr Daly has been with the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County since 1998, and with its History and Genealogy Department since 2000.

Mr Daly earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history in 1995, and a Master of Arts degree in history in 1997 from the University of Cincinnati with a specialization in African-American history; and, earned a Master of Library Science in 2001 from Kent State University.

Organizer of the meeting is Ms. Joyce Coleman, a member of AAGGMV’s Executive Committer and a charter member of the African American Genealogy Group of the Miami Valley.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

The African American Genealogy Group of the Miami Valley promotes interest in, and adds to the body of knowledge of, African-American genealogy and Black History. This non-profit organization holds monthly meetings throughout the Miami Valley and Southwestern Ohio and sponsors speakers who address topics in genealogy, family history, and Black History.
