Workshop will provide sources that contain biographical information on members of these denominations. Display tables will contain examples of: denomination publications: newspapers, magazines, conference minutes, association minutes, trustee reports Church records: membership, church officers & boards, meeting minutes, articles of incorporation, property records: church, parsonage, cemetery Without faith it is impossible to please God. Church Survey Records 1936-1940 Church records may contain the first use of surnames selected by African Americans during Reconstruction 1865-1880 outside death or marriage records. From 1870 to 1940 they are the best records to trace ancestors and to tract migration from the southern states to northern and western states.
